For some of you college just doesn't seem like the right path. Some of you have been working for a while now and still haven't found the right match; a job in which you can excel, make decent money, move up, and retire from. A job you can turn into a career. Why not consider roofing?

We get it. You think of roofing and you think of this:

Roofing is so much more. Especially when working outside of residential and you dig into commercial roofing where roofs look more like this:

It may come as a surprise to some, but roofing is a viable career choice. The construction industry (roofing is under this umbrella) is projected to continue to grow over the next decade and is in need of young workers to join the force as the older generation prepares to retire. Statistics prove there's definitely job security in the construction/roofing industry.

What does a roofing career look like?

Many companies, like ours, have openings for several positions such as laborer, foreman,  project manager, equipment operator, or superintendent. It's an industry where you can start with no experience, be trained and promoted, then continue to grow your entire career. You get to work outdoors, your work site changes regularly to keep things interesting, and you have a team to work with who genuinely support one another on the job.

Awesome is an understatement when you see the finished project after the many hands and different skills came together to install a roof. It's rewarding to be able to take pride in your work. To work with your hands, to challenge yourself, to put your learned skills in action. To be able to drive down a highway, see a roof system you helped install and be able to honestly say, I did that.

What's in it for me?

If safety concerns you when considering a career in roofing, it should. Safety is our #1 priority and it's always at the top of our list of concerns. We provide regular safety training to all of our employees and keep our equipment in proper shape so our men can perform safely on the job each day.

Benefits and wages may be another concern. At Frost we do offer our full-time employees full benefits including health insurance and 401k. We also offer paid time off to our employees. Compensation here is based on performance, not tenure. This means if you give it your best, show up when you're scheduled, and put in honest work, it's appreciated and rewarded.

If you're going to consider a career in roofing, consider joining a team of professionals who's been at it for nearly nine decades. To learn more visit our careers page or call our office: 419-739-ROOF (7663).
